Shawn Crowley Featured in The New York Times, “How a Single Overdose Unraveled an Empire of Heroin”

Before joining Hecker Fink, partner Shawn Crowley served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where she led complex investigations and high-stakes trials involving violent drug trafficking organizations. One of her most impactful cases stemmed from a fatal heroin overdose in her native Vermont and uncovered a multistate narcotics network distributing a deadly branded heroin known as “Flow.”
Shawn helped steer the multi-agency investigation that traced the overdose to a violent Bronx crew, their heroin supplier, and the trafficking infrastructure that connected New York City to rural New England. The yearslong case resulted in over several convictions, including life sentences for multiple murders, and the dismantling of a major heroin pipeline.
At Hecker Fink, Shawn draws on her deep experience with cross-jurisdictional investigations, trial strategy, and crisis response. Her background handling matters with both legal and human complexity makes her a valued advisor to clients facing regulatory scrutiny, enforcement actions, or reputational challenges.
