Sean Hecker Discusses Obtaining Rule 29 Acquittal in U.S. v. Robert Bogucki on Podcast “For the Defense with David Oscar Markus”

On a recent episode of podcast “For the Defense with David Oscar Markus,” Partner Sean Hecker discussed obtaining a rare Rule 29 acquittal for client Robert Bogucki in United States v. Robert Bogucki. 

Sean served as lead counsel to Mr. Bogucki, who was accused of orchestrating an alleged $6 billion fraudulent scheme. Judge Charles Breyer granted the Rule 29 acquittal, finding that no jury could reasonably convict Mr. Bogucki on the evidence presented by the Government, and remarked that he had never granted such an acquittal in his twenty years on the bench.
