NEW YORK, Feb. 4, 2026 – Hecker Fink LLP announced today that Jeffrey Fisher, one of the nation’s leading U.S. Supreme Court practitioners and appellate lawyers, has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Mr. Fisher represents clients in high-stakes appellate matters across a wide range of civil and criminal issues and has argued fifty cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. He joins the firm from O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he has been conducting his private practice for several years alongside his work as a law professor at Stanford Law School and co-director of its Supreme Court Litigation Clinic.

Mr. Fisher is widely recognized for his role in securing pivotal Supreme Court decisions. He has argued fifty cases before the Supreme Court—including cases involving the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, Tenth, and Fourteenth Amendments—and secured numerous landmark victories that have reshaped modern constitutional doctrine. His Supreme Court advocacy includes precedent-setting victories involving digital privacy, confrontation rights, the right to jury trial, racial justice, marriage equality, and the education of children with disabilities.

In addition to his Supreme Court practice, Mr. Fisher has handled significant appellate matters before federal and state courts nationwide, advising clients on complex legal questions with far-reaching implications. He is nationally ranked in Appellate Law by Chambers and has been recognized by Legal 500, Lawdragon, and Best Lawyers for his appellate advocacy, and he is a frequent speaker on Supreme Court and appellate practice at federal judicial conferences and for organizations ranging from the National Association of Federal Defenders to the National Association of Attorneys General.

“Jeff is one of the most accomplished appellate advocates of his generation,” said Hecker Fink founding partner Sean Hecker. “Hecker Fink was built to try cases at the highest level, and world-class trial work demands appellate excellence at every stage. Jeff’s Supreme Court experience, judgment in high-stakes matters, and commitment to principled advocacy strengthen our ability to represent clients seamlessly from trial through appeal as we continue building a world-class trial firm.”

“Jeff’s career reflects a rare combination of intellectual rigor, practical insight, and deep respect for the role of the courts,” said managing partner Julie Fink. “His judgment and experience will make our lawyers stronger advocates and our teams more effective in the most challenging matters. We are thrilled to welcome him to the firm.”

“I have long admired Hecker Fink for the seriousness with which it approaches litigation and the kinds of cases it chooses to take on,” said Mr. Fisher. “The firm has built a reputation for thoughtful and highly effective lawyering in civil rights and other complex matters implicating the public interest. The firm not only provides an exceptional platform for Supreme Court and other precedent-setting appellate matters but also values appellate strategy as part of its core trial legal policy practice. I’m excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with the firm’s outstanding litigators and to assist in mentoring its younger attorneys.”

Since 2006, Mr. Fisher has been a professor at Stanford Law School. During that time, he has been co-director of the Stanford Supreme Court Litigation Clinic and, in recent years, he has taught federal courts. Prior to joining the firm, he also served as Special Counsel in the Supreme Court and Appellate Practice group of O’Melveny & Myers LLP. Mr. Fisher clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens and Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and earned his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Michigan Law School and his A.B. from Duke University.
