WASHINGTON, D.C., March 10, 2025 – Hecker Fink LLP is pleased to announce Trisha Anderson has joined the firm as partner in its Washington, D.C. office. Anderson is a seasoned national security and cyber lawyer with extensive experience in the Executive Branch. As Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice, she advised the White House and senior officials on a broad range of complex legal issues, including national security, cyber, and other constitutional and statutory issues. She played a key role in reviewing and approving presidential directives, resolving interagency legal disputes, and advising on high-stakes congressional oversight matters.

Previously, Anderson held senior leadership roles across multiple agencies, including Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intelligence & Security at the Department of Commerce and Principal Deputy General Counsel at the FBI, where she oversaw the legal support to the FBI’s cyber, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism investigations. She also served at the Treasury Department, where she supervised all legal advice to Treasury’s sanctions authorities, including OFAC and FinCEN.

“Trisha is a brilliant and prolific attorney with a remarkable history of leadership across the federal government,” said Sean Hecker, partner at Hecker Fink. “Her addition will bolster our formidable civil litigation and white-collar practices, and we expect her to be an invaluable voice in our D.C. office.”

“Hecker Fink’s outstanding reputation, combined with its culture of collaboration and innovation, made it the ideal place for my return to private practice,” said Anderson. “The firm’s shared commitment to integrity, public service, and advancing the rule of law resonates deeply with my own values. I look forward to working alongside such a highly skilled team to provide exceptional advocacy for clients facing their most complex legal challenges.”

“We’re excited to welcome Trisha to our growing team,” said Julie Fink, Managing Partner, Hecker Fink. “Her proven track record and unique legal perspective, shaped through her experience in both government and private practice, makes her a great addition to our deep bench of litigators, who are well equipped to serve our clients’ complex litigation needs.”

Anderson previously was a partner at Covington & Burling LLP, where she represented Fortune 500 companies in commercial litigation, cybersecurity, data privacy, and government enforcement matters. Earlier in her career, she clerked for the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and for the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Anderson earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and her B.A., cum laude, from Yale University.
